CCMIG Diploma in Minimally Invasive Surgery

It has been a difficult few months for everyone with the increase in COVID-19 cases and resultant restrictions in place across the UK and much of the world. As a result some of our courses were sadly postponed. All of the CCMIG Faculty are dedicated NHS staff and have been continuing to work on the frontline throughout the pandemic. We can, however, begin to see some light at the end of the tunnel and are very pleased to be announcing the brand new CCMIG Diploma in Minimally Invasive Surgery, which will be taught all online over 4 days 8-11th April 2021.

It will be a fantastic course will in depth training for leading experts in minimal access techniques from gynaecology and general surgery. The Diploma will also be our first event during which delegates can make use of our brand new bespoke CCMIG Laparoscopic Trainer! This flat pack design box simulator has been developed with virtual courses in mind, ensuring you get the same experience at home as you would attending our physical centre in London. The design allows easy portability and shipping to anywhere in the UK or internationally.

See our course pages for details for the Minimally Invasive Surgery Diploma and our new CCMIG Trainer page for detailed information!

Successful hands-on return and move to virtual training

We had a fantastic return to our hands-on courses with the Advanced Hysteroscopy Course, held on the 19th of October 2020. The course was a hybrid between pre-course virtual lectures delivered online live to allow the day to focus on practical training.

All our courses will be running with a hybrid virtual / hands-on model in mind, with social distancing in place for the physical sessions.

We are thrilled to announce our next hands-on course: Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy 15th January 2021 at our Centre in Chelsea, London. Keep an eye out for details on registration!

Resuming Courses Post COVID-19 Lockdown – New Online Lap Courses!

We are thrilled to say we’re now able to resume our physical courses following the COVID-19 lock down from March 2020 in the United Kingdom. Our first course will be our fantastic Advanced Hysteroscopy Course on the 19th of October 2020!

Our doctors and support staff have been working hard over the last few months in difficult circumstances and are only too aware that the landscape of medical education and our lives more generally has changed. To that end, our courses will be providing more online content than ever and our Online Modular Laparoscopic Course is being entirely revamped with updated video lectures and curriculum. Look out for our upcoming announcement on dates!

We absolutely love interacting with all our delegates and giving personalised tuition at our physical courses, but with our new virtual course that one-to-one feel is not lost. You will be sent a laparoscopic box trainer and will be able to live stream your training to our faculty for continued individualised tuition. Without the requirement to attend our centre in London we are excited to be able to open our courses to a wider audience than ever before and teach trainees across the globe!

We absolutely can’t wait to see you soon – be it at our new physical courses or virtually!

Course validation – a quantitative step forward.

The buzz word for practical courses is validation. Essentially does going on a course lead to improvements – does a course really enhance a trainees dexterity skills. Whilst it is easy to assess how a course improves a trainees knowledge base using formative and summative assessments is more difficult to quantitatively assess dexterity skills especially longitudinally. We have always had formative assessments during our course.
