Tom Bainton
Course Organiser
Mr Bainton is a consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, specialising in endometriosis and Minimal Access Surgery.
Tom graduated from Oxford University in 2012, undertook Specialist Training in Cambridge and the North West Thames Deaneries. He was the Endometriosis and Minimal Access Surgery Fellow and subsequently the Endometriosis Research Fellow at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Imperial College, London. He has a special interest in medical education, having completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education at Cambridge University in 2019 and has a wide and varied experience in medical education at every level. He has been course faculty at CCMIG since 2020.
Module 1 – Ergonomics of Laparoscopic Surgery & Risk Assessment
This module takes the trainees through exercises for build these skills. We have designed innovative models for the trainees to use in their Laparoscopic trainers.
Module 2 – Excisional Techniques & Endometriosis Management
The excision of peritoneal disease, adhesiolysis and ureterolysis are some of the vital clinical skills which any Laparoscopic surgeon has to master for advanced Laparoscopic surgery.
