Summary

The foundation of Laparoscopic surgery is based on ergonomics, hand eye coordination, dexterity and visual perceptions. Understanding the basic principles of these skills with practice helps to master the Laparoscopic skills for various operation procedures. This module takes the trainees through exercises for build these skills.  We have designed innovative models for the trainees to use in their Laparoscopic trainers.

This lecture will outline the activities of module 1 including the timetable, assessment, practical work and assignments. This lecture will also discuss the anatomy for laparoscopy along with the complexity of the learning curve.

Anatomy for Laparoscopy

Understanding of the anatomy is the key for safe laparoscopic surgery. This lecture and it’s images will take you through the basics of laparoscopic anatomy.

Hand Eye Coordination Videos

This lecture contains five videos demonstrating techniques related to hand eye coordination, dexterity and visual perception of the image depth. These are the key kills for any laparoscopic surgeon. Box trainers along with supervised training and practice helps to achieve the above.
